Jake Kring-Schreifels is a writer, reporter, and editor covering sports and entertainment in New York City.
A Philadelphia native (with a stop in Seattle) and 2014 Fordham University graduate, he spent four years at the Washington Football Team as a team reporter, website editor, and publications coordinator. He returned to New York to take a senior editor role with Yankees Magazine. Most recently, he helped edit and shape the voice of The Doe (now Nota), a start-up publication dedicated to sharing anonymous essays and cultivating civil discourse.
His freelance writing and reporting has been featured in The Ringer, GQ.com, InsideHook, Esquire.com, The Washington Post, The New York Times, Inverse, Polygon, Vulture, The Atlantic, and The Film Stage, among other fine publications. In November of 2022, his story in The Ringer “Eminem Found Himself in ‘Lose Yourself.’ Will We Ever Let It Go?” was featured as one of Longread’s best stories of the week.
